Handcrafted Aircraft Style Furniture
Aviation Flying Furniture turns vintage airplane parts into beautiful handcrafted airplane furniture like a desk, coffee table, decor, chair, bar, tables, and more. We use wood wings from an old aircraft like the Boeing Stearman and bring art and creativity into every piece.
After having spent 10 years in USAF, Illinois as Crew Chief on KC135E Tankers and F16 Falcons aircraft in the Florida Air National Guard and having served n the 1990 gulf war based at Jedda Saudia Arabia, Aviation Flying Furniture owner Kurt Eldrup born Hahn A.F.B. in West Germany (A&P Mechanic, Pilot, s.e.l. c-172), has mastered the art of turning what seems to be a piece of old scrap metal into a piece of art.
Kurt attended the RockVally Aviation Maintenance College at Rockford, IL, and the Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL. He also attended the American Airline Maintenance College.
Since then, he has spent 25 years as an auto body technician and auto body painter restoring old cars, working on collision repairs, and painting an aircraft and even Harley bikes. Also, he has a company called Eldrup Painting Products that manufacture products that help painters hold parts when painting.
Kurt’s mother is the president of the Officer’s Wives Club. Her side of the family is full of great artists. His father, on the other hand, is a retired Brig General USAF with the following experiences:
- 100+ Combat Mission in Vietnam.
- F4D Phantom.
- 555th TFS and 8th TFW
- Ubon Royal Thailand Airforce Base going onto fly KC. 97 and KC. 135 A, E Air Refueling Tankers.
- 126th ARW IL Air National Guard.
- 27 Years of Service.
- Mechanical Engineer.
